Mamoudou Gassama, Paris' Street Hero

On May 29th, Mamoudou Gassama, an 22 year-old inmigrant performed an act of heroism in the streets of Paris when he climbed a four-story building in order to save a child that was dangling from a sidewalk of the building. Mamoudou earned the nickname ''Spider-man of the 18th'' after climbing 4 strories, resembling the comic book hero ''Spider-man'', for being the only person brave enough to save the child from a deadly accident, and because the building was located in the 18th Arrondissement. The state of France has decided to reward his heroism with a legal status in the country. Lots of people were against the idea of giving away legal status to an inmigrant man just like that, but brave men who put their lives on the line to save a child are exactly the kind of people anyone would want in their country. And indeed, France's civil code states:   "Article 21-19 says that a fast-track naturalization procedure is possible for a foreign national

A project to build a new Chinatown district in the Chilean capital will be carried out with donations from Chinese businesses in the area, Santiago’s mayor Felipe Alessandri said on Saturday. “The idea is to bring it closer to reality … we have to help it (Chinatown) conform and give it a typical Oriental feel,” said Alessandri. Xu Yiping, representative of Chinese businesses and key planner of the project, told Xinhua his intention is to build a beautiful Chinese district, so that local shopkeepers can work there with dignity and security. Katy Winter

On the afternoon of May 23, at around 3:00 pm, the parents of Katy Winter filed a complaint in the disappearance of their daughter after the student came, as usual, to the establishment and retired in the middle of the day without giving explanations, a call from the Starbucks of Ricardo Lyon, in Providencia, broke the news: the girl was found dead, with signs of having committed a suicide.A month ago, Katy Winter uploaded her last song to Soundcloud. It was called "Good bye", and in it as she explained it in the well-known musical page, the student of the Nido de Aguilas, "is about a friend who was in love with me. He was going to move to London and I did not want him to leave without letting him know how I felt, so I wrote Good Bye, hoping he would sometimes think of me. " This is according to the news one of the causes of the tragedy. Equally the cause of the tragedy is still not 100% safe since there are many different stories and stories of family and friends

Girl power

On March 16 a protest was made by hundreds of women that wanted to be heard by the authorities and because of their powerful voice, it was heard. This march was so intense that every newspaper and news channel of the country was talking about it, this news made such an impact that it even got international and articles, reports and opinions about this march were browsing the internet worldwide. The message behind the protest is a message that, in my opinion,  we should all support: to stop the sexist education and sexual harassment. But in many chilean media the thing that was more discussed,  because it caused a lot of controversy, was the way of how some young women in the protest were acting. It it true that some of them ruined statues like Juan Pablo II, by writing non-catholic sentences and even calling him names like rapist or liar, and graffiti public building walls. I don't think thats the way to ask for something, it only worked for media reactions and in a negative way be

Deforestation

Our forests are the lungs of our world. They get rid of carbon dioxide and produce fresh breathable oxygen. Also, forests regulate temperature and rainfall. Now a days they cover 30% of the land but every year, tree covered surface is minimizing its area. For example, Panama due to over-population needs free land to use it as residential land for local people. So deforestation means clearing of green land and making it available for residential, industrial or commercial purposes. This is very bad because there are no new ideas or solutions for overpopulation. So the only way out is making non-inhabitable land into residential areas. I think that we could help this issue if every one of us plant a tree in our garden, this little details will help the world get better.

Feminist march

The march was transmitted live in the news due to its strong and powerful message that presents a very important topic for womens rughts that is still being violated to this day. What do you think of this? Would you have participated?

Kilauea Volcano Eruption

Kilauea is one of the world’s most active volcanoes. It is a shield-type volcano that makes up the southeastern side of the Big Island of Hawaii. The volcano rises 4,190 feet (1,227 meters) above sea level and is about 14 percent of the land area of the Big Island. The summit caldera contains a lava lake known as Halema`uma`u that is said to be the home of the Hawaiian volcano goddess, Pele. To the casual observer, Kilauea appears to be part of the larger volcano Mauna Loa, but geological data indicates that it is a separate volcano with its own vent and conduit system. Kilauea has had more than 60 recorded eruptions in the current cycle, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, and has been erupting on a continuous basis since 1983. On May 3  , 2018, the volcando erupted dramatically, several hours after a magnitude -6.8 earthquake struck the Big Island. The eruption spewed lava into residential subdivisions in the Puna district of the Big Island, prompting mandatory evacuations o

Global warming

Global Warming is a current problem created by us. It is  also referred  as climate change, is the observed century-scale rise in the average temperature of the Earth's climate system, and its related effects. Multiple scientific evidence show that the climate system is warming. Global warming creates higher death rates, dirtier air, higher wildlife extinction rates, acidic oceans... to stop this we must reduce carbon emissions, stop deforestation, and get ready for higher impacts. The most important fact is that people must get informed of this everyday problems, that many of us don´t even know they exist.
