 Chilean President Sebastian Piñera joined the tide of criticism this week from Latin American nations over U.S. family separation policy at the Mexico and U.S. border. “No immigration policy should stop taking care, welcoming and protecting children. This is a universal principal, a principal that more than anything reflects values,” said Piñera while inaugurating a nursery and kindergarden for Chilean and foreign children in Santiago on World Refugee Day. Regional countries continued to react to U.S. President Donald Trump’s “zero tolerance” immigration policy, which has led to the unprecedented step of taking children as young as four away from their parents and keeping them in separate detention facilities.

Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, better know as XXXTENTACION has died. Investigators said it appeared to be an armed robbery. He was aproached by two armed suspects and one of them shot the 20 year old rapper. He was transported to a local hospital and reported dead at 4:51PM. I think its very sad for many fans (he has 8.2M followers on Instagram) because he was a very talented rapper, very young and had a bright future. This had had been his best year reaching Top 10 songs on Spotify and on the Billboard Hot 100. RIP XXXTENTACION.

Recently I was watching TV at my home and for my surprise, when I looked out the window there was a drone spying at me! I think that drones are very cool, but people should use them conciously and never invade someone elses privacy. I felt very scared because the owner of the drone could be a burgler or an assassin.

The world cup has started, i think that this is an opportunity for the world to bond, in mostly every country people are joining together to watch the tournament, sadly Chile is not playing this year but we are still watching the matches to cheer for our favourites

It is almost time for another World Cup to begin in Russia, but despite the content and main attraction that makes it exciting, i think that historically this tournament has become the most important for an specific sport worldwide. It is incredible how this Cup can stop the whole world and become the center of attention for a whole month in most of the countries around the world. I hope this year´s edition will be as intense and thrilling as the last one in 2014.

In Chile, winter is coming. On the one hand, this means that crops will grow and the air wil be cleaner, on the other hand homeless people are having a hard time going through this, homeless men are dying out of cold and starvation. How can we live like this knowing that this is happening 15 minutes from our cozy homes. We must do something about it. If you see someone in need there is a hotline that you can ring and they will take care of it until the rain stops.

In a historic decision, Chile’s House of Representatives voted this Wednesday to ban the usage of plastic bags in all types of shops across the entire territory, making it the only country to prohibit them in the American continent. The initiative was initially aimed only at the Patagonia area, but was later extended to apply to the entire nation. Supermarkets and shops will have to adhere to a strict rule that means they’re only allowed to give out two plastic bags to consumers for each purchase they make.
