Te Deum celebration


Monsignor Ricardo Ezzati announced that he will not carry out the Te Deum, something that many political and social sectors had requested. Moreover, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Maya Fernandez and the President of the Chamber of Senators, Carlos Montes, had already said that if Ricardo Ezzati carried out the ceremony, they will not be there. Many of you must be asking, but what is this “Te Deum” celebration? The Ecumenical Te Deum of patriotic holidays is a liturgy ceremony held in Chile every September 18th in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Santiago, all to celebrate the national holiday. Now, why are some people against Ricardo Ezzati celebrating the Te Deum? That is because he is accused of covering up many sexual abuse cases. Despite this, some people think the ceremony should be carried out by the Monsignor of Santiago no matter what because it is a chilean tradition. What are you opinions on the news? Do you agree that Monsignor should carry out the ceremony or are you against it?

    I do not know much about the subject but from what I read I think that everything that makes people uncomfortable or generates a dispute does not come to anything or does not work very well, and I also think that definitely this chilean tradition of sebtember 18 has to be celebrated and if the form they suggest or the one that has always has been made generates a dispute, I would look for another way to celebrate this tradition.

"Intentional" fire at storage in Maipu

On Thursday 30th, a large fire started in a stockpile of disused tires of the “Famaprica” Company, located in the sector of Rinconada, in the municipality of Maipú.  New fuel spill affects Puerto de Ventanas in              Puchuncaví This afternoon, during the maintenance works to the pipes of the company Enex, located in the Port of Ventanas de Puchucaví, a hydrocarbon spill occurred on the pier's floor that ended up falling into the sea. After the spill of the hydrocarbon, the personnel of Enex and of Puerto Ventanas S.A., activated the protocols and response measures, containing the product and deploying absorbent sleeves between the pier pillars of the same port company. The maritime authority, for its part, within its emergency protocols, arranged afloat and terrestrial means to prevent the spilled product from reaching the Ventanas beach. The personnel of the Captaincy of Puerto Quintero informed that "it will keep verifying the control of the emergency and supervising the cleaning work"

World Cup: Most important and viewed sports tournament
