Uber law
Yesterday early in the mornig a large group of taxis gathered in manifesation of the new “Uber Law” that was sent to theCongress this month. The drivers made a huge caravan alongAlameda Street and finally, in a private way, leadersdelivered a letter to transport minister Gloria Hutt whereeleven items that "completely disfavor” them are indicated. This manifestation had its origins this Tuesday when it wasapproved to authorize the operation of systems such as Uberand Cabify, with regulations and limits. The president of thetransport commission, Mario Venegas, specified that it wasestablished that in the vehicles where the transport servicewas to be carried out, it should fulfill with safety and comfort norms and regulations, and drivers should have a professional license with a course approved in order to carryout their work. But, how does this new law affect taxis? Theproject entered, "directly affects the heritage of our union, generating unfair competition. We hope that issues such as the number of vehicles are included, since these should be limited, nor can their rates be regulated and the issue of passenger insurance is also very important. These are ourthree main demands, because they are not in the project, certain things are ignored and we are not on equal terms."says the leader. What are your opinions on these apps? Do you think that this law is beeing unfair with taxis?
