POPE FRANCIS IS AWARE OF CHILEAN CHURCH


Pope Francis has admitted he made “grave errors” in judgment in a clerical sexual abuse scandal in Chile and invited the abuse victims he had discredited to Rome to beg their forgiveness.
In an extraordinary letter published on Wednesday, Francis also summoned all of Chile’s bishops to the Vatican for an emergency summit in the coming weeks to discuss the scandal, which has badly tarnished his reputation and that of the Chilean church.
The Vatican orders up such emergency visits only on rare occasions, when Vatican intervention is urgently required, such as when the clerical sexual abuse scandal exploded in the United States in 2002.
Francis said the meeting, which comes just a year after the Chilean bishops were last in Rome on a regular visit, would have as its objective “repairing scandal where possible and re-establishing justice”.

    Very interesting news Jacinta, I am glad to hear that the Pope Francis is aware of what happens with sexual abuse in the church. It is necessary that the Chilean bishops meet in the Vatican, because is a way they will be able to avoid sexual abuse and I also believe that the victims will feel heard and that the abuse they suffered will not go unnoticed.

    I think that Pope Francis made a huge mistake by inviting one of the fathers, Barros, who is known as a sexual chid abuser, to one of his masses. This became extremely controversial due to the fact that there arr many confirmed cases of this made by Barros. Inviting the victims to the Vatican and apoligizing publicly is the least he could do

"Intentional" fire at storage in Maipu

On Thursday 30th, a large fire started in a stockpile of disused tires of the “Famaprica” Company, located in the sector of Rinconada, in the municipality of Maipú. It was estimated that 3.000 tires were on fire this Thursday morning. 32 people were evacuated and 3 volunteers with minor injuries were reported.  New fuel spill affects Puerto de Ventanas in              Puchuncaví This afternoon, during the maintenance works to the pipes of the company Enex, located in the Port of Ventanas de Puchucaví, a hydrocarbon spill occurred on the pier's floor that ended up falling into the sea. After the spill of the hydrocarbon, the personnel of Enex and of Puerto Ventanas S.A., activated the protocols and response measures, containing the product and deploying absorbent sleeves between the pier pillars of the same port company.
