Qatar's World Cup Slavery

Russia's world cup has been a success in terms of organization and infraestructure but there has been plenty of discussion due to the incoming world cup in Qatar on 2022. Hosting an event like the world cup requires huge hotelery and stadiums that need to support hundreds of people . This buldings , in qatar , are being built by inmigrants from poor countries that are payed little amounts of money and have poor working conditions.Dozens of Nepalese migrant labourers have died in Qatar in recent weeks and thousands more are suffering labour abuses. qatar is one of the wealthiest counries in the world but it seems that they dont care about the workers.

    I think it's a very important topic and it gives a lot of conversation. It is true that organizing a World Cup is very complicated so you have to try to find a solution to all the factors like this.

    It's true that an event of the magnitude of the World Cup needs a huge ammount of infrastructure, but the cost of human lives is a price that we should not pay. FIFA should get on top of this situation and seek the responsible for the deaths of workers

"Intentional" fire at storage in Maipu

On Thursday 30th, a large fire started in a stockpile of disused tires of the “Famaprica” Company, located in the sector of Rinconada, in the municipality of Maipú. It was estimated that 3.000 tires were on fire this Thursday morning. 32 people were evacuated and 3 volunteers with minor injuries were reported.  New fuel spill affects Puerto de Ventanas in              Puchuncaví This afternoon, during the maintenance works to the pipes of the company Enex, located in the Port of Ventanas de Puchucaví, a hydrocarbon spill occurred on the pier's floor that ended up falling into the sea. After the spill of the hydrocarbon, the personnel of Enex and of Puerto Ventanas S.A., activated the protocols and response measures, containing the product and deploying absorbent sleeves between the pier pillars of the same port company. The maritime authority, for its part, within its emergency protocols, arranged afloat and terrestrial means to prevent the spilled product from reaching the Ventanas beach. The personnel of the Captaincy of Puerto Quintero informed that "it will keep verifying the control of the emergency and supervising the cleaning work"

World Cup: Most important and viewed sports tournament

It is almost time for another World Cup to begin in Russia, but despite the content and main attraction that makes it exciting, i think that historically this tournament has become the most important for an specific sport worldwide. It is incredible how this Cup can stop the whole world and become the center of attention for a whole month in most of the countries around the world. I hope this year´s edition will be as intense and thrilling as the last one in 2014.
